Auditions will be organized regularly in North America and several European cities.

In November, 2021  Artistic Director Hans Nieuwenhuis will be in Canada visiting Toronto and Montreal as a member of the selection committee of Les Jeunes Ambassadeurs Lyrique. More Information can be found on their website: l20.ca

Most Orfeo candidates were and are selected through international talent scouting. To find these singers the Director and Associate Director of the Foundation interface with an international network of stage directors, conductors, directors of young artists programs, opera companies, conservatories of music, agencies, competitions and casting directors.

Directors Hans Nieuwenhuis and Richard Harrell will visit as many performances and concerts with young singers as possible. Young opera singers are also welcome to send the artistic board members invitations to performances in which they will appear. The directors will attempt to visit these concerts.

Young singers may also approach the foundation directly for help and support by sending a resume, video recording and a photograph. The Board of Directors will review the application and then can decide to invite the singer for an audition or work session. After the audition or work session the Board will make the final decisions.

Those selected will be eligible to receive career networking advice, as well as individual audition coaching sessions, for a period of up to three years. They will be designated as “Orfeo Singers” and are required to ALWAYS mention the foundation in their public resume and also in programs of performances and concerts.
